Products - Specstrip

The products and services produced by Specstrip include the following:

• Low Carbon mild steel strip in coil, or Flat bar / Cut Lengths.
• Temper Rolled steel to customer’s thickness and hardness tolerances.
• High Carbon “Spring Steel” and Wearplate, both soft annealed or as rolled.
• Galvanized steel strip in coil, or Flat bar / Cut Lengths.
• Tinplate or other “Plated” strip.

Strapping and Seals – Hard Un-annealed, Bright Cold Rolled, Galvanized, Black Painted High Tensile, PET and Woven.

Low Carbon

Specstrip supplies Commercial Quality, Supradraw and Supraform materials. Specstrip supplies both slit steel strip and temper / precision rolled steel strip to specific thicknesses and hardnesses in coil, Flat bar / Cut Lengths , with or without Round Dressed Edging or Bevel Edging (Flat bar / Cut Lengths  only).

All material produced to customers’ specifications, including Inner Diameter (ID), Outer Diameter (OD), and Coil Mass etc.

Thicknesses: from 0.18 mm up to 5.00 mm thick.

Tolerances on thickness:

Temper Rolled below 2.00 mm: +/- 0.025 mm.

Temper Rolled above 2.00 mm: +/- 0.050 mm.

Slit only: Mittal tolerances – vary between 6% – 8% of thickness.

Widths: from 3.5 mm wide up to 1300 mm wide.

Tolerances on width – tolerances are negotiable.

Primary Slit +/- 0.2 mm.

Reslit +/- 0.15 mm.

High Carbon – Spring Steel

Specstrip stocks both SAE1045 to SAE1055. Typically thicknesses less than, and equal to 1.20 mm are made from imported SAE1055.  Typically thicknesses from 1.60 mm up to 4.00 mm are made from ArcelorMittal SA SAE1045 material.

SAE1055 – Annealed:

Thicknesses: from 0.30 mm up to 1.20 mm thick are supplied from the Spring Steel material.

Tolerances on thickness: Imported SAE1055.

Below 1.20 mm: +/- 0.03 mm.

Widths: from 3.50 mm wide up to 320 mm wide.

SAE 1045 (Wearplate):

Slit only: ArcelorMittal SA tolerances +/- 5-8% of material thickness.

Widths: from 3.50 mm wide up to 840 mm wide.

Tolerances on width – tolerances are negotiable.

Primary Slit +/- 0.20 mm.

Reslit +/- 0.15 mm.

Strapping

Strapping & Seals:  Specstrip is a major player in the Strapping market.

Our products include:

• Bright Steel Strapping: We purchase SAE 1012 Hard Un-annealed strapping from Mittal and slit it at Specstrip for resale – from 10.00 x 0.60 mm up to 32.00 x 0.80 mm.

• Galvanized Strapping:  We purchase and process Full Hard Galvanized Strapping for resale – from 10.00 x 0.60 mm up to 32.00 x 0.80 mm.

• High Tensile Black Painted, both ribbon wound and oscillated – Jumbo coils on request:  i.e. We import High Tensile SAE 1022 Strapping for resale – from 13.00 x 0.60 mm up to 32.00 x 0.80 mm thick.

• Woven Strapping:  Econo, 1 red and 2 red line.

• Seals:  We produce our own Mild Steel and Galvanized strapping Seals.
• PET: 12.00 x 0.60 mm up to including 19.00 x 1.27mm

Strapping
